I've used those before but found that they release the water too fast if you use large bottles like 2ltr. or have really sandy soil.

We don't have our irrigation system in yet. My Hubby installed timers on our faucets, and placed the drip lines into my pots (from Lowes, I think). They worked perfectly last summer for months. Then the batteries went out, approximately after 6 months. We didn't read about the batteries, Oops! I'll be gone for awhile this summer and we plan to set them up again. Hubby isn't big on watering my pots! You might give them a try.

thanks for responding.

I wonder how these would work with clay soil - slow percolation.

I have small individual bottled-water sizes too.

Lol, slow percolation does not really do justice in describing our clayey soil. How bout No percolation. I'm sure that at least 50% of what's standing around after a rain gets evaporated before it gets taken up by the soil.

Try it in the clayey soil and report back. I'm thinking it will either work great or not work at all.
