cool sepals

Delaware, OH

let's start a thread with cool and unusual sepal forms from our clems. Today i noticed my main duchess of edinburgh had thrown a bloom that was very interesting....all greenish splattered sepals. like green , double blooming tie dye!
wish the whole plant was blooming this way. for the most part it looks like a normal year for the duchess. once established they are very reliable, getting them established is the tricky part.

That is very cool. I should have an unusual bloom on Arctic Queen at some point.. She always throws a few oddities.

not a surprise irwell, the sepal re arrangements come from cold wether in bud formation.......
i love this one on the duchess and will post the bloom again as it opens fully. very early blooming clems and early doubles are the ones where you usually see the cool sepals form time to time.
