cleaning Felco pruners

Well, I made the leap and bought Felco pruners. It's time to clean them and I noticed there's a jelly type of lubricant in there. I've got mineral oil and WD-40. I did my best, but I want to do the very best. How do you clean your pruners?

LOL... I always wipe my blades with alcohol ... never used any lube.. maybe that's why they always rust up on me

Linseed oil "if" bought right is edible. If you read on wikpedia it is also used for Industrial Lubricants. I dont know if this mean metal. I would say if you wiped it on lightly everything would be fine.

Sherrie, I don't think I'd use a vegetable base like linseed oil. They tend to get sticky after a while.

harper i have a pair and i did not do anything special to them except sharpen the blade - i may have sprayed wome wd-40 now that i think about it. don't go crazy

After I clean the dirt off, I spray my tools with Pam. Works great !
