Very tempting. Inspiration is beautiful.

i am very excited about inspiration. it has established well and is covered in flower buds. they have a quality like a durandii except pink, very saturated and almost luminous. i have it in partial shade, may try another one in full sun, but so far the performance of the cultivar is excellent.

I love integrifolias. I don't understand why they are not more popular.

Calgary, AB(Zone 3a)

I think the integrifolias are not more popular because they are hard to find and because people think of Clematis as those plants that have to be on a trellis up against the house wall!

I doubt that I could find an integrifolia at any major nursery in this city and there are several very good ones.

The integrifolias /durandis I have have come from a little specialist back yard nursery which, fortunately or unfortunately(!) is not far away from me!

Colleyville, TX(Zone 8a)

Very pretty.Do you grow it something or is it like a bush?

Delaware, OH

this one is a taller one, probably what they refer to as a diversafolia, altho some experts refute that category and so intgrefolia is the term for both. this is not vining in the respect of tendrils catching supports, but it has been easy to train and will be 5 ft by next week. not droopy, upright.
i have another one called heather herschell that also climbs nicely with only a little coaxing. some shorter intrgrefolias such as "rosie" are harder for me to supoort and tend to flop but these taller ones i am having a good experience with.
after i return home this weekend, i will post a photo of the whole plant on this thread.
hakuree is even shorter than rosie and does not need support so far for me. it's the rosie types that can be vexing.
inspiration has totally exceeded my expectations. ssv ships such great roots it is like jumping 2 years ahead with the plant vs a little liner, or a gallon that is not really rooted out.
to me that is good value as much can happen in that two years to a clem. as i am sure you know.
this one is on a 5 ft, 6 inch wide trellis. tall and this, but it has the inside side of an arch to also lean on.

Aurora, IL

Here is my Inspiration. It is just as described. Purchased from SSV last year, it's 6' tall, narrow for now, and full of blossoms and buds! I have it on a narrow trellis and am concerned it may 'bush out." But this year, it's perfect!

If I may, here's Silver Moon, also planted in 08. Also lovely, tho short!

This is the first time I've posted pictures. First time I've had anything to post, as my garden was just started last summer! I'm excited!!

Gorgeous, kellybird. It's is perfect.

You just gave me an idea. I don't know why I didn't think of using the downspout before now.

Calgary, AB(Zone 3a)

Lee Valley ( and probably other places too) sells a trellis that fits around the downspout.

Aurora, IL

They are from Lee Valley. I just saw them at a local garden center, too. This downspout has one. On another, I put one above another. I wonder if the clems will "bush out" and the support will be too narrow? I guess time will tell.

Here's another view. (This picture thing is fun ;-))

Dave's Garden makes it so easy to post photos.

that inspiration is a knock out keelybird. great show for second year. ssv ships some great roots and you obviously have the touch with it. a diversifolia, for those that agree with that category vs just integrefoila, it should stay slimmer and taller.

Colleyville, TX(Zone 8a)

Beautiful clem and location and name. I have the supports for the waterspout which will go up as soon as the gutters get fixed.

I'm thinking I may do that also on the ones that only get morning sun.

I planted a Durandii from Debbie this spring. It's off to a great start and is now beginning to lean against a dwarf alberta spruce. CG - I love your "Inspiration." Your clem information has been so helpful to me!

Edited to say, Keelybird, your clem photos are gorgeous too!!

thanks figaro. i would like the waterspout idea, but have to think about hubbies reaction. we have "girl stuff" and "boy stuff" around here. downspouts and gutters are in the boy stuff category.

I have a bloom on the Durandii from Debbie I planted this spring. All of the ones I planted this year, even the cheapies from Park Seed, etc. are doing well.

isn't durandii magical irwells? glad to hear your clemming is going well!

Is Durandi truly as blue "in person" as it appears in your picture??

Delaware, OH

it is the most blue of all my clems i think. i often liken it to well worn denim. it looks blue in most lights......

Lakes of the Four Se, IN(Zone 5a)

Sounds great! I'm looking forward to some blooms on my new Durandii.

Delaware, OH

one thing i am really impressed with this year is the longevity of the durandii blooms. they are really holding up well......
i am looking forward to my arabella maturing and comparing the color, which seems similar, tho arabella seems like a smaller bloom. my durandii blooms have gotten progressively bigger each year. very nice clem.
