The sea was beautiful, my camera doesn't do it justice. Lots of colors and as clear as a bell.

Thanks for the photos Jen!

Beautiful.

Would you be kind enough to tell us what the trees and the bird is?

Thanks.

The bird is the Brazilian Cardinal, Paroaria coronata.

The 1st tree is Royal Poinsiana, Delonix regia.

The 2nd tree is Golden Shower, Cassia fistula.

Looks like another beautiful day on the Kihei coast!

Sure, rub it in.

We are still under water..LOL

Thanks for ID, Dave.

I thought the first one was familiar, for it is here too. Think that the second one is here also, but the pix is a little blurry.

But, at least we keep mild temps.

Heaven on earth, that's what you're showing, Jenny!

Houston, TX(Zone 9a)

I'll be right there Jenny....LOL...
those trees remind me of Liberia!

Braveheartsmom, your camera picked up the pic's just perfect. The pic of the sea was my favorite but I sure did enjoy viewing the bloom's from some of the tree's. I must add that I have never heard of a Brazilian Cardinal.

Thank you for sharing a part of your world.

Aloha - Alex, where have you been lately?

Glad you enjoyed the pics - interesting to note that the golden shower tree comes in many shade of yellow / gold. This one happens to be rather a pale one. I have lusted after a rainbow shower tree for ages now - they have blooms that are pink and yellow, and best of all they are sterile so there isn't the seeding problem that the golden has - my kind of tree!

Jenny were those Papaya seeds you send hermaphrodite? I only have one at fruiting size, and it has papayas on it...wasn't expecting that.

Great shots Jenn, THANKS!!!!!!!!!!

Hey Jen...hear they put you guys on 'water rationing'?

Hillsborough , NC(Zone 7a)

Aloha Carol - no water restrictions here in Kihei, but I believe it is so upcountry. We are usually the very last to go on restrictions because of the tourists.... Funny though because it looks as if it is raining almost every afternoon up the mountain.

Are you guys having a dry year too?

Keaau, HI(Zone 11)

Negative. Nearly 70inches so far which is more than last year but under 'normal'...

Keaau, HI

The water for Kihei is from a dike tapped in Waiehu; there is an ample supply.

The water for Upcountry Maui comes from East Maui, and the undersized pipes used to deliver it are not sufficient for the increasing population there.
