Jon - Here's that ugly coneflower I told you about. This came up from seeds last year. I still have it, but God, it's ugly. Ha!
Ugliest Coneflower Ever!
I do not know the latin name for this coneflower but it looks like the Texas native coneflowers I see daily on a country road here in northeast Texas. It is highly prized, not grown in nurseries like the purpurea which is much more showy, and I carefully collect a few seeds to put in my country front yard garden....I try to take only a few so those left have a lot to reseed themselves. They have long, sparce, drooping petals, placed further apart than the popular purpurea and just lilac in color.
nellcey,
This is a seedling from Pink Double Delight Seeds. It looks crazy. I gave this one to my aunt. She told me not to trash it. She's the kind that will take any stray animal or plant. LOL.
I think it's kind of cool
