Question on IPODS

I know this is not the ipod forum, but It's also a computer question, so I directed it here. Hope someone can answer it for me.

Can I have two ipods set up on one computer, if I set up two itunes accounts. Want to put my son's ipod on my puter without loosing all my songs. So I thought if I opened him an account of his own, that Itunes would let me have 2 ipods on my puter. Can that be done? Wanted to ask before I tried it. Apparently he's having troubles on his puter and Itunes won't open at all, we've uninstalled itunes and reinstalled it ( I have it on disk) and it still won't work, so I 'm going to have to take his puter to our friend's house , but Darren wanted to use his ipod before then.
