This is blooming now,is it best to cut the blooms right away or wait until it has finished blooming.
I heard blooming puts a strain on the color of the foliage.

I would carefully cut out those blooms, and any more that appear. Unless it is your intention to save seeds from your Kong, the blooms just sap the strength of the plant.

I agree with ZenMan. I always would pinch off the blooms as soon as I would see them.
