I have 4 bareroot clematis that I bought at Walmart. (before I started reading here) and because of all the great advice I am growing them out in gallons this summer. They are all leafing up and doing well and I am wondering if they can/should be planted this fall or should I wait until next spring to plant.

When you see the roots coming out of the bottom of the pots then they are ready for your gardens..I would check them before your fall time and see...I am assuming you have rather cold winters and know they wouldn't survive being left outside during winter with no insulation so I'll let those in your zone address that issue..so I am bumping this up...Jeanne
