Counted Cross Stitch Pattern

Let me preface this post by saying I know nothing about this craft. A young lady who is a friend does counted cross stitch and was wondering if there is a way, or a computer program, or a business, that is able to take a photo and turn it into a pattern for counted cross stitch.
