Garden Pics: Wish You Could See What I See...... #6

(Pony) Lakewood, WA(Zone 8a)

Ooh lrwells50- that's gorgeous! I wanted red ones so bad, but all they had was pink and yellow/red. (was shopping with a gift card, so I couldn't just high-tail it somewhere else)

Yep, I do my own. It sounds to me as if you work for an accounting company though? I could not do that.

(Lynn) Paris, TX(Zone 7b)

Yep, hubby's CPA firm. I am REALLY tired of living from deadline to deadline after doing it for 30 years.

Union, WA(Zone 8b)

Beautiful pics everyone. And welcome pony. I have that little red/yellow dahlia also.

RC love the raindrop one.

It's HOT down here. The stands of Lupine I'm seeing everywhere are outrageous. And there's Ceanothus everwhere, big and beautiful.

southern willamette , OR(Zone 7a)

Lol..... you're funny Katie! This is the 4th day like this. However, It's going to be a very long time before i'm going to say that I'm ready for the crappy season again. Actually, I never am. I'm glad that you were here at the right time to see the lupine stands though. They're beginning to go over. :-(

Dallas, OR(Zone 8a)

Hot here too! 88 deg.. 70-75 is enough for me. I need more shade! I meant to get a picture of a neighbors Ceanothus, but you know how things go ..I forgot and now most of the blooms are gone with this heat. It was gorgeous. He lives on a corner lot and has it trimmed and shaped to fill the entire corner. It was just buzzing with bee's!

I was watching this bumble last night collecting pollen on these lupine. It was facinating to watch. They push down the "pedal" for lack of a better word and dig in deep to get the pollen.

Love bumbles the best. I love the noise they make.

Lovely color.

(Pony) Lakewood, WA(Zone 8a)

Yum. The columbine is gorgeous. I've never grown them, are they fussy?

(Trisha) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)

Same question here....would love to try Columbine!

Union, WA(Zone 8b)

They are not fussy. Just throw the seeds out and you will probably have them for life. Cut them down to the ground after they bloom, either the bloom stalks or the plant if it looks nastsy, and new growth will arrive almost overnight.

Moscow, ID(Zone 5a)

Lots of columbine at my place - the Bees have done a great job mixing it up, so i have quite a range of colours, textures, ruffles, & everything in between. Trisha - if you are interested, i can send you roots, or save seeds. Let me know. I'll try to get some pictures for you in the next few days.

Here's a beauty that i was surprised by early today:
Rosa 'Morning Has Broken'.
She needs to be on a thread called "Wish you could smell what I smell"!

katye.. Beautiful. I agree with you about a new thread called "Wish you could smell what I smell"!
I feel that way about the golden celebration rose I posted above and many of the iris I have are just so sweet smelling.

This is a red double knockout rose. The bush is loaded with blooms.

Wish I could smell these but they are in the back of the bed and I can't get to them right now.
