I bought this plant 2 years ago at Walmart. The tag just said "White Clematis". I thought it would look nice between my Nellie Moser & a deep burgandy I have. This is the 1st year it has bloomed and althought it is white, it is also "fluffy". I've never seen one like this.

This one has a pale lavender colored center. There is another, hiding where I could not get a good shot, that has a light green center.

Any info is appreciated.

It looks like Duchess of Edinburgh.

Could be. When I was out looking at it yesterday afternoon, I noticed some of the foliage has white stripes. Had not noticed that before.

I just think it is so "different" and to have found it on a clearance rack at WalMart!!!

the lavender cast to the flower is more like a belle of w, duchess opens greenish white and goes white, even retaining some greenish sepals to many blooms. it does not look lke the duchess to me, but of course, these plants have many forms. duchess of e has been around a looong time and i am sure there are differences form place to place. here is duchess of e opening yesterday in my garden.
