What evergreen shrub to prune into 9-12 m spiral?

Fresno, CA(Zone 9b)

I'm wanting to spiral trim a pair of shrubs which will live in large concrete pots in my front yard. Is the Blue Point Juniper appropriate for this purpose? Is there a web site where I can learn how to do such trimming in the British style?

Thoughts, ideas, wisdom?

Linda

{edited to add} BTW, you will find a photo of the pots and setting at http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/fp.php?pid=6577554 .

You could use it, though better to use something that can regenerate better if you make an accidental cut too deep, such as yew or box.

Quoting:
in the British style

Dunno what style it is, but not British!
