I am slowly but surely getting my Iris beds in order. I think my favorite is the bearded iris and unfortunately all the plants I have here at this time are not marked, I am starting to mark all the Iris I put in from now on. Brecks has a special on their Batik Iris Collection and I am going to try them. The colors are great. I have only two bearded at this point and would love to have more if anyone has something to sell I would love to hear from you privately. This is my yellow one.
I need to learn the difference between the Dutch and the other types. I think Iris is a great flower to work with in arrangements. Too bad they do not last longer. Is there is specific variety that lasts longer than others? Thanks for your help. JB

Spurias last really long cut. And Dutch do also, but I don't know how well Dutch would do for you. But a lot of florists use spuria in their bouquets.
Here's a good place for spurias:

A little word of caution. Buying from Brecks or any of the large retail stores is going to get you mis named irises. Buying from the growers is always best, and since you are interested in bearded there are tons of growers to chose from. And you can get them for around the same price as Brecks, and know they are true to name.
Since you're looking for broken colors, here's a good site. Check out their clearance section.
