Australian Pelican (Pelecanus conspicillatus)
Gorgeous pic Margaret!!
Thanks, Pelle. A truly amazing sight to see.
Absolutely fascinating moments you've shared via your photography Margaret. Your pics. and Ken's are much appreciated. I'm so lucky to have found this bf of the Australian Pelicans. Thanks DG.
Incredible action, isn't it? I couldn't believe my eyes when I first saw the pouch being inverted like that.
I was at awe. I thought to myself, if I were you, I would shake with excitement and wouldn't be able to hold the camera still to take a good picture. lol
Ha ha. That conjures up a good image.
Would you consider reposting those series of pix to share on our daily bird pic. thread. Many DG members will be fascinated with those images, I'm sure.
Chuckles at my own image! Hush, hush.
Well I'm fascinated, that's for sure! Superb photo Margaret!! Stop shaking Lily, you're making my computer screen jump around :o)
Thanks, nuts. I never knew they did this manoeuvre let alone the reason why. Resin explained that it's to maintain the suppleness of the pouch.
Will do Kim. These shots are from several years ago, but I'll re-post them.
Yes!!! nuts and Marg. You've made my day with joy. Can't stop shaking though. lol
Such a fun shot!!
Thanks, Kell. They are fun birds.
