Fountain Project in Pasadena

Pasadena, CA(Zone 9b)

Okay this is the bubbler fountain and pair of mock rocks I made over the last week.

Process: I used a very experimental mix of mostly vermiculite, some peat, sand, and portland cement on the fountain. the rocks were more like 3 parts peat, 1 part portland cement, and one part sand. I mixed it pretty dry, like a thick paste I could apply to the forms.

I made three indentation in the hard clay soil I have here. First, a large one for a water basin. I was able to form the shape by latex-gloved hands, put in two plastic pipes for possible drainage issues, poured it, and left it covered for about one week. The rocks were totally simpler, just pouring in the solution.
