Ugh! Totally disgusted! Little teeny tiny green loopers have eaten their way through an entire crop of lettuce. No less than 30-40 little lettuce plants are riddled with holes in every leaf to the point they're inedible and I tossed them in the composter today :(
I'm new to lettuce growing. I didn't see them until I pulled the plants and these green loopers came out of the soil. I have heard they can also eat broccoli, so maybe that's what's up with my broc. I am really worried about my entire garden because this one huge wine barrel and my two other containers were FULL of these worms.
I replanted today, but the loopers will just take over. What can I do organically??
Thanks! Gina
Looooooooooooooooopers!!!!!!!!
Bt (Bacillus thuringiensis) is supposed to take care of caterpillars, which is what your loopers are. Here's some info from UC Davis http://www.ipm.ucdavis.edu/PMG/r108301011.html
Thanks!
