Sorry, I missed your birthday yesterday, but I hope you are still celebrating!! Eleanor
p.s. Have fun moving the mulch. We put 9 yards of mulch in Colin's play yard. It was quite a big pile, but only took us two days!!!!

Louise, what is that gorgeous yellow flower?

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

It's trollius, Harper. I think it may also be called globe flower. Cool, isn't it? It's among the first of my blooms. Here's another angle....

Thank you everyone. I just finished up the birthday cake for dinner!

Milton, MA(Zone 6a)

You shared it with the cats, I hope!

Questa, NM(Zone 5b)

Just plain Birthday Cake, or something special? What flavor?

Louise, I'm gonna have to get me some of that. I have a bed where nothing is in bloom until June. What was I thinking?

Framingham, MA(Zone 6a)

Happy belated birthday my dear friend.... many many blessings to you!!!!

Oh, Memory, I'm sorry I missed it! But, better late than never! I hope you had a beautiful day filled with lots of love and gifts. Did the cats bring you any voles for your birthday? LOL!

Here are some pretty violas for you to enjoy!

No voles! But a nice dinner and a movie. Thank you (all) for the wishes.

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

Harper - you would really like the trollius, I think. It's very cheery! It is the only thing blooming in that garden so far. The peony near it is going to pop soon!

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

I deadheaded my trollius last year... and was getting blooms later on.... off and on.. love them!

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

Thanks for telling us that, Allison. I didn't deadhead, but will this year. I wonder if harvesting seeds works to propagate new plants. I'd love to have a few more plants!

Questa, NM(Zone 5b)

I read that the trollius can get really tall, but yours looks tame Louise. How big will yours get?

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

I'm not sure, Harper. I read the same thing in the plant files comments. Mine is 3 years old in full sun, and it is not taller than it was last year, so I'm a bit confused about those comments. I guess I'll have to wait and see if it takes over the garden.

Questa, NM(Zone 5b)

Okay. Keep me updated.

I'm so sorry Memory! I missed your birthday and almost your birth week. I hope you had a grand birthday and an equally grand birth week!!

Louise I put some seeds from a swap in WS container.... nothing yet

Questa, NM(Zone 5b)

What a beautiful iris Louise!

Jersey Shore, NJ(Zone 7a)

Thanks Harper, I love this Iris. I'm not sure how I got it, it's either a happy accident from Aitkens or Onewish. It will get divided when ready.
