ID needed for this please

I got this for 4.00 at walmart close out and there was no tag on it last fall, it survived the Kansas winter, and the tops of the leaves turned rusty colour, then it grew clumps that looked like artichokes, and those turned out to be newleaves, the flowers are pure crisp white..

It is an Elepidote rhododendron( big leafed), that has had Winter burn on the leaves. The most comon one in the stores that has white flowers is called Chionides,
