some one gave me this saying someone gave it to her mother 50 yrs ago . its rhizome looks like louisiana iris . since ive never seen one bloom in not sure if this is one . its smaller than i thought louisiana iris are .

Looks like LA to me. Some have smaller flowers depending on which LA species is involved.
