THANKS!!

On the RU Front...
I just found out the Anderson Township Garden Tour will be Sunday June 7th from 10AM-4PM.
AND it's basically in our (and the RU Site's ) backyard... well not really OUR backyard but...
These are some serious gardens done by some of the best Cincinnati has to offer.
Well some are not quite so serious but...
There are 7 gardens in the free self guided tour.
We have been to 5... unfortunately our friend Hosta John's place isn't one of them this year.

Here's a preview

http://www.flickr.com/photos/rnranimals/collections/72157606...

Gardens 1 & 2 are not on the tour this year.

Anyone interested get w/ me... we can easily get you around the area.
We WILL be going and let me tell you two of these gardens at least are World Class.
(Hey we have to steal ideas from some place...)

You've heard me speak often and w/ love of Claire and Charlie's Garden...here's your chance.
Charlie passed this year but his work will live on here for decades.

Oh, yes! I would like to go on the tour, too!

I have only been to the Bergers' and Judy Brandenburg's (just last week). Both v. nice gardens.

Here are descriptions of the gardens from the Anderson mailer: http://www.andersontownship.org/documents/Garden_Tour_Inside.pdf

And a map (that takes some time to download).

Should be a very nice afternoon. And free, too, I think!

Yes Free!
We had a ball last year.... and used our house as the Restroom stop.... lol!
One garden is just around the corner from us none more than 6 miles.

If you haven't toured John and Brenda's place or attended one of his plant sales you are in for a treat.
I can guarantee you will never see more Hostas grown in one place....
and grown perfectly..... than you will see here.

It will change your mind about the way to grown and display them.

Brenda is Nationally known in the Birdhouse/Yard Art scene.

Their Garden has been in Better Homes and Gardens twice.
And in Country Living last year.

Plus John is just a great guy to talk w/.
Eager to pass on tips and serious discussions or just to sit and schmooze w/....lol!

You will be able to tour eight beautiful gardens for free on Saturday June 27, 10:00-5:00.
The first garden on the tour will be the Demetriou's Gardens located at 1065 Gaskins Road Cincinnati 45245.
When you arrive at the garden you will receive a map telling you how to get to the other seven gardens. All of the gardens are within fifteen minutes of the Demetriou's garden. This is a wonderful event for those people who love to tour beautiful gardens and get great ideas to use in your own garden.
Last year we had over four hundred attend and it was a great success and enjoyed by all who opened their gardens and also enjoyed by all who attended.
Don't miss this wonderful day in the garden.
Happy Gardening

Depends on the work thing Cookie.
If I'm back to work..... hopefully... we will go on Saturday.
Though it's SO close we can really go at any time.

We actually met John years back.
A woman we work w/ had seen signs for a plant sale stuck out on the road near her house.
We stopped by on the way home from work and were floored.
Expectations were of a garage sale w/ a jumble of ratty plants.
Instead it was Hosta Heaven.

BTW I was mistaken.
We missed the Anderson Township Garden Tour last year.
It was the East Side tour we went on instead.
This one is a linear tour.
You start at Jon's, get your map and go from there.

The Anderson Tour Sunday you just go where you go w/ no starting point.

Oh, yes, a friend of mine's garden is on the Eastside tour. This should be another fun afternoon of touring.

And I believe I saw Brenda's birdhouses and fairy garden houses featured in a very magical garden in the 'Grand Pavillion' at the big Garden Show, didin't I? Very very cute, and I need one!

Joycet and Darius, if you stay for Sunday touring, please stop at our house for a lemonade. We will be leaving here for the baseball game around 12:30 but the mornings are wide open. We are easy to find.

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

Well, I haven't heard if Darius and George will want to go on the tour or not. It wouldn't be very "nice Hostess" of me to get up and leave them here!!!!

I'm hoping they'll want to do the tour also...I'm trying to get Bertie to go, too....

Lemonade sounds wonderful....I might have to bring Ric and company though....

Sounds good. Looking forward to your visit if it works out in your schedules.

Enjoyed seeing all of you today!
