I planted this ( Yellow blooms) last fall and forgot what it was ... Is it a yellow primrose?
Does anyone know what this is? ....
ozark sundrops

watch them, they tend to spread pretty quick.
Thanks threegardeners!
I always called them Missouri Primroase. BEV
Here in Michigan we call them Evening Primrose.....I might add they are pretty invasive.....
Deann
Deann, You are right . I get them and the Missouri mixed up. They are pink not yellow. sorry. BEV
I noticed ozark seems to flower all over ...These seem to only flower at the top.
that is oenothera missouriensis I believe
iris, i love the combo of your penstemon, salvia, alium and oenothera together. They make a very pretty group.
sandnsea2, oenothera missouriensis is the same as ozark sundrops, Isn't it? .. Still not sure on this myself.
pgt, Thankyou so much! They do look good together, But, Once they pass, I got an úgly'spot lol!
Definitely invasive in central Illinois...but mine never grew taller than 6". I pull them out every year, but never completely remove.
IRIS, yes they are one and the same.
Oenothera (latin name)= Ozark sundrops(common name)....
Your garden is so lovely!!!! Thanks for the pictures...
Iris: Which salvias do you have in that first photo with the sundrops?
Angie
Hemophobic, The Salvia to the left, I'm pretty sure I have the name tag too, I just need to find it, When/If I do find it, I will post the name for you. The flowers in front of the sundrops is Penstemon barbatus "Ronido Mix"
Such a pretty shot...
Thankyou Nanny!
TY, Iris. I'll be watching for that name tag!
Angie
