I'm glad you were able to identify it. I had looked at your picture but had no idea. I think I have some of that on my property. It looked familiar.

Well. I was wrong! LOL! I'm being told it can't be a viburnum, so it's back to the drawing board.

Someone just ID'ed it as an Ash tree.

too bad it is an ash.
every ash here has died from emerald ash borer.

Odd that the saplings are popping up here everywhere! I just found another one today, in the back of the property. I know it's new.

Speaking of pests, the 2 huge, BEAUTIFUL (sigh.......)) Hemlocks at our mailbox have been nearly destroyed - 1 is nearly bare. My neighbor has a row of them on the property line and we both have planned small gardens around them. I spose they'll go too.

So it's an ash tree eh? **grin** No wonder it looks so familiar. We have 28 acres full of ash trees. I'm in a wetland area and I guess ash are able to withstand the spring flooding. That's mostly what we have here along with some very old maples and a few oaks.

I want like everything to keep them safe. Our Hemlocks are breaking my gardening heart and I want to save them and can't. I told my daughter it almost feels like some mama Ash tree dropped off her babies in my care because she knew I'd fight for them! LOL!

Well, go ahead and plant it but not somewhere you will "count" on it to live. I love ash trees. I have a lot of mature ones and they are beautiful. I like their form and beauty. In the fall they drop smaller leaves that are brown so when I suck them up they make great soil ammendments to the garden beds. I know about that bad ole emerald ash borer bug and have planted a lot of other variety trees so if and when my ash go it won't look so bare around the house. I'm hopeing the bug just bypasses my farm. :)
