How do I fatten up my worms?

Since beginning this venture, my population of worms has exploded but they are little bitty thangs. They are consuming more and more lettuce and veggie materials with every passing day. But now I have a friend that likes to fish and so want to learn to catch fish with some but they are so little. How can I get them to fatten up and get as big as the ones in the bait shops? Can someone help me here?

If they are little they may be youngins. They should grow up within 3 months.

Red Wigglers do not get as big as earthworms or so I've read.

I have had this for about a year, so some should be of size.. but are not.. There are a blue million small ones though.. The European Nighcrawlers are small too.

The red wigglers are not a large worm, as compared to the night crawler.It is my understanding that the more mature worms go deeperleaving the hatchlings near the top. Mike
