American Red Elder - transplantable?

Coon Rapids, MN(Zone 4b)

Has anyone ever tried transplanting American Red Elder (sambucus pubens)? Some made its way into my yard last spring. I like it, but not where it has planted itself. I have one very large plant, and several smaller ones where it appears to have reseeded. I'm thinking about digging out a couple of the smaller plants and moving them to a different corner of my yard. Has anyone ever tried this?

I have another kind of elderberry. I've dug up and separated the small ones that come near the elderberry that has been there for years. Those do well once they recover from being separated and moved.

Thanks, Linda. The gardener at the nursery suggested that if it's small I can move it right now fairly easily. Since the one that showed up last year has apparently reseeded itself, I'll try moving some of the babies.
