I have little experience with growing garlic yet, but I thought it was better to plant in the fall, as the bulb grows better in the winter? Anyone else?

It's indeed better to plant in the fall. Plants will be stronger and bigger. Use big bulbs, they will give better plants.

Seeds will take forever... ping me inthe fall and I can walk you through the easiest way to grow garlic. I've been doing this for years.
