why so short?

Every bunch of iris I see in our area is so shot this yr. What could have stunted all the growth. Even the buds look odd. BEV

How has the amount of rainfall been? We are dry & some irises are growing short.

Probably the extra warm/freeze/warm/frost weather. The first blooms will probably be on
short stalks. I have a few that are blooming on 12-15" stalks alongside buds on 35" stalks.
I would guess the short ones were the first to try to rise and were hit with a freeze. The
shorts and talls are in the same clump.

Weather, other thing is that if the city has a spraying program that could also make them shorter
