White Oak Tree arachnoiditis disease

Howell, MI

My white oak has been diagnosed with arachnoiditis. We have had it treated for several years at a high cost with little or no improvement. I would like to know what the preferred treatment & fertilizer are, so I can do it myself and possibly get better results for less money. Any info on this condition would be greatly appreciated. Huh? Arachnoiditis is a human disease that's caused by the inflammation of the Arachnoid (the middle layer of the Meninges, which is the sheath that covers the central nervous system). Not sure what disease your Oak has, but I don't think it's this one.

You're right. The disease is actually Anthracnose which makes my query rather irrelevant. However, if you know about Anthrachnose, I'd like to hear it.

Here are some references for you. You might also contact your local extension office, they will probably have some good ideas for you.

To ecrane3, Many thanks for this very helpful reply. I happen to live in Michigan, so the MSU link was especially helpful. Cubbydoodle
