Hello Everyone,
New to gardening found I have my newly planted flowers have been eating alive. Looked on internet for what it was as I couldn't find anything... Found it might be slugs. Put out some beer to see and it was. I saw something called sluggo it's suppose to be safe for my animals and birds & such.
Anyone tried it? How does it work? Any other suggestions. I have a little dog plus the neighbors have pets that are not on a leash. I don't want to harm anything other than what's killing my plants!
Slugs
Sluggo works, or anything else with iron phosphate as the active ingredient. Make sure you check the label of anything you buy though, and avoid things that have metaldehyde in them, that is very toxic to pets. You can also put a copper barrier around your plants if there's only a couple, and I think some people have also had luck with diatomaceous earth.
