I have a redbud (cercis canadensis) that was planted in my yard about a year ago. A few weeks ago I removed the stakes supporting it. Since then we have had quite a bit of wind, and the tree is now leaning about 20 degrees. Should I re-stake it, or leave it to straighten out? It is about 6 feet tall, with a trunk diameter of about 1 inch. I'm in California, so I don't expect any severe weather (the tree has fully leafed out). thanks!
Should I stake my redbud?
If it's leaning I'd stake it.
