transplanting irises

I am moving and dividing up my garden. I've always divided and replanted in July and August. My irises haven't bloomed yet but I want (need) to start digging up. Will my friends and family get any bloom out of them? Will the irises handle an early transplant? Thank you.

This may be a tough job if you want bloom. If you have large pots, plant iris in them. Do you know which people will be receiving plants? If so, they can come over-dig them then & they should plant them right away. If buds are there, they may bloom, otherwise, not until next yr. I would try & pot anything which you are moving with you.
