Hello,
I am in the Dallas area and have been enamored with the idea of Dahlias for a while. Despite being told it will never work here, my hard headed self decided to go for it anyhow this year. I have some tubers ready to go in and I'm wondering if anyhone has had success (and/or failures) growing Dahlias in my area? I'm going to put them in this week and would love to be able to ask questions of someone with some experience? Aside from the usual questions about sun, I am wondering about soil and imagine that I will have a last minute concern or two come up during planting.
Many thanks in advance,
T
Any Texas Dahlia gardners here?
This is a great link for growing dahlias in the south. Please share with us how it goes for you happy_garden. http://www.dahliasocietyofgeorgia.com/
Happy_garden you could also Dmail TexasLou who has dahlias growing east of you. She can share her Texas dahlia advice.
That Georgia website is a treasure for Southern climate growers, particularly the newsletters.
