Hi all, I have cannas and would like to plant the seeds. However, I'm not sure what to do with the little things that come after the flower.Help!!!!! alday
how to find the seeds?
After flowers die and fall off. what is left is a seed pod. let that seed pod dry up and it will usually turn brown and start to crack open. this is when you collect the seeds or they may be on ground under cannas if they open up before yuo can retrieve the seeds.

There is a thread here somewhere that goes into great detail how to start your seeds once you gather them.
You will need to scratch the seed with a file or something until you see a little white. Then plant it about 1/4 inche deep or so. It should start sprouting in a week or two.
Please know that the seeds will not come true from the parent.
Good luck and have fun playing with your canna seeds. It is very neat to raise some of your own seedlings and see just what you end up with!
