Healthy Lifestyle Support thread April 11 - 18, 2009

Hughesville, MO(Zone 5a)

It was so slow at the cafe' tonight. I think we had about 40 customers. The special was honey ham. Each serving was a nice thick half slice. It was a bit different from what I got last week I think but not really better.

Sue, you girls think I do a lot? LOL Most of you wear me out just thinking of everything you get done in one day. Yes, GOD has told me to take some time to just lie in bed and rest/sleep. That is what I did today. I got up at the usual 6 or so, ate breakfast, gave the dogs a long potty break, took my meds and went back to bed for 'a few minutes'. I woke up again about 10 so I had about 3 hours of minutes. Then I went to get the hand held vibrating sander Holly is loaning me and the steel wool pads she had left over from a project she did. I got one side of one cabinet door done when I started feeling the need to eat. I checked my watch & saw it was noon so I ate a nice big lunch & went back to bed until 3. While waiting for breakfast & then lunch to cook, etc. I managed to wash 4 loads of laundry. 3 of them got dried & one put away. The last one is dog blankets so it can kind of wait for the drier. I laid 2 of them on top of some stuff in the utility room & they will air dry themselves. The other one(s) will need the drier I think. All together I think I rested/slept about 4 or 5 hours today. And I feel no guilt whatsoever over it.

There is so much sanding to be done in the bathroom. I'll be so relieved when it is done & I can paint and walk away from the finished project. I know I will love it but it really has overwhelmed me with how much work there is to do.

Pebble, I think you are going to need a really good antihistimine to battle those headaches. You may also have an infection in your sinus cavities which needs attention. Please don't ignore this situation. Go to a good EENT specialist who has a reputation for treating allergy related headaches, etc. You can probably find references online.

Anna, you are another whirlwind that tires me just to think of what you accomplish in a day. I did that when I was MUCH younger than you but no more. I would love to order cakes, cookies, pies, rolls, etc from you but since there is only me you can imagine what I would soon look like if I did that. GOD is really helping me again as I was letting my sweet tooth get out of control for awhile.

I got some baby tomatoes plants repotted yesterday & just a few minutes ago. Seeds came in today from someone on the seed trading forum. Kellog Breakfast for Kris & ground cherry for both of us. I'll get them into dirt maybe tomorrow. They can go out into the garden in about 5 weeks so they need to get growing. I will put them in containers of dirt on top of the freezer with the seeds in them & let them grow from there. No transplant shock that way.

I pray everyone is going to have a wonderful Resurrection Day on Sunday. I'm sorry for the losses in the families that Susan & Joann mentioned. It will be a difficult 'holiday' for them for many years.

Sue, have you made a calender(sp)to check off the days until your DH gets back? That might help both you and the children get thru these next 4 months. Any sign of real spring weather out there yet? We are running an average of 10 degrees below normal here according to the weather man in K.C.

I'm about to go to sleep so I'll sign off while I can still find my typos. lol. GOD bless & keep each of you. Prayers being said for Ally, Meems, Dovie, Debbie, Vic, Sandra, & Kim. Hope to hear from all of you again soon.
