Let’s Swap some plants! II Ric & Holly’s

Dover, PA(Zone 6b)

The first thread was getting pretty long so here is a second thread for you to fill up. LOL
If anyone wants to organize their swaps and re post them here, you are welcome to do that. We are going to try to keep just 1 post per person (edited as needed. We are going to use the first swap thread to make your requests and general chat. Here is the link http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/956531/ Here is a double yellow Datura. I know there will be some of these at the swap.

Frederick, MD(Zone 6b)

Depending on whether or not I have time to up-pot any winter sown babies, I might have columbines, salvias, penstemons, and lots more to share... but those might have to wait for the next get-together.

Mint! I'll bring a bag of Kentucky Colonel Spearmint and another of Chocolate Peppermint (Miata,Flowerjen, stormyla)
Columbine -- need to sort through my 1 year old plants, might have a few extras, there's at least one pink one extra.
Sea Holly (Eryngeum something) -- 3 or 4 available, 1 year old winter sown seedlings in 4 inch pots
Balloon Flower (Platycodon), probably blue -- 2 available, overwintered in 4 inch pots (RosesR, Stormy)
Black-eyed Susan -- lots of extra volunteers from my plants, the regular one that's all around the area, let me know if I should bring some (Stormy, Holly's DIL, NisiNJ)
Thymes -- will try to take some divisions this week & update, lots of possibilities with the creeping varieties, so far have a couple Mother of Thyme and a couple English Thyme in pots, hopefully getting good roots. (Stormy)
Greek Oregano -- potted up half a dozen in 3 to 4 inch pots.
Lilac (unlabeled pot but probably one of the Belle de Nancy cuttings I took last year)
Yellow Ox-Eye, Heliopsis helianthoides var. scabra, blooms all summer long and there are probably volunteers "out there" to share
Obedient plant (pretty pale purple flowers) -- looks like 2 little extra clumps out there (Catbird, Holly's DIL)
Rose of Sharon (Hibiscus syriacus) -- have 2 or 3 little one year old seedlings in quart pots, one is marked pink, not sure about others, also have an older plant, probably lavender, that I just dug up, small roots but looking good.

rooted cuttings:
Coral Honeysuckle cuttings -- 2 pots, looking OK but not stellar, Miatablu has dibs on one, bring cuttings for Gita.
Honeysuckle (Lonicera americana) cuttings -- 2 pots, looking OK, can bring fresh cuttings also to root in water or soil
Scented Geraniums (pelargoniums) -- hopefully Attar of Roses, Cocoa Mint Rose, Snowflake Rose, Peach, Lady Mary (strawberry), Cinnamon, Lime. (interest: LadyG, onewish, RatherB, Gita, RosesR)
Crooked Willow cuttings -- taken this spring, starting to strike roots (Holly wants 2)

need to get counts from my seedling trays, but should have a few varieties of basils, tomatoes, and peppers to choose from.

Basils: hope to have Italian (my favorite for cooking), Hot & Spicy (Sumatran), Purple Ruffles, Serato, Blue Spice, Thai 'Siam Queen', Minette, Windowbox, Lemon, and Lime, maybe also Clove & Camphor. I've also got seeds left (collected and from my Marketplace offer) for most of those as well as for pink-flowered chives and fernleaf dill.

Tomatoes (LadyG, Happy, Holly, Stormyla, NisiNJ, Kubileya):
pinks: Potato Top, Black Mountain Pink (first year for me), German Queen
oxhearts: German Red Strawberry, Joe Thierman's Australian Heart (first year for me)
reds: Wisconsin 55, "Friendship" (unknown round red from Italy)
Pasters: Polish Linguisa (huge fruits), "Fingerling" (unknown ID but very productive), 'Black Pear' (mahogany-black, first year for me)
other: Hillbilly (aka Flame, bicolor, first year for me), Yellow Brandywine (gold), Black Russian (maybe)
cherries: Dr. Carolyn (gold), SunGold, Black Cherry, Chocolate Cherry, Wild Cherry

Peppers: will have an assortment of hot peppers, mostly tex-mex types, ranging in heat from Pizza Pepper (should be very mild) to Tabasco. Hoping for a few extra sweets; looks like 'Sweet Pickles' came up well, and that one is nice for containers.
(Happy, Doc, LadyG)

requests:

Salton warming trays
pasta with roasty sauce
camp stool
folding table

LadyG: jasmine cutting (if I get one to root), scented geraniums (ditto), tomatoes & peppers for neighbor, blue spice basil
RosesRRed: thymes & other herbs, Balloon Flower, Greek Oregano, scented geranium
Doc: herbs, Gypsy pepper, ?
Onewish: scented geraniums, crooked willow start, peppers
Happy: cherry tomatoes, peppers, Lonicera americana cutting
Buttoneer: Heliopsis (yellow and variegated also maybe)
Claypa: hosta (Patriot lookalike), daffs
Gita: coral honeysuckle cutting, scented geraniums
Flowerjen: basils, scented geraniums, Chocolate Peppermint
Holly: tomatoes (Sungold, maybe also Dr. C, Black or Chocolate, JF, Stupice, and a couple "slicers"), 2 Crooked Willow starts, Wild Cherry seedlings if diggable
Holly's DIL: filling a big field, BES, Obedient Plant
RatherBDigging: scented geraniums, tomatoes (Chocolate Cherry, either yellow cherries, a Black pear & GRS)
Ruby: Bee Balm (lavender), Lemon Balm
Catbird423: obedient plant
Stormyla: balloon flower, chocolate peppermint, any kind of thyme, any penstemon, black eyed susan, and asst. tomatoes
NisiNJ: BES, SunGold & GRS tomatoes

Lady - I'll rummage through my sanses (MIL-tongue) and see what I can do for you - I have several with "babies" :-) Most of these are smaller plants...

Since I'll be repotting and splitting several varieties I'll be happy to bring some for whomever would like some :-)

Here's my spot.

Roses_R_Red: I am a newbie and worried I wouldnn't have anything to bring, but I actually have stella d'oro daylilys that I was thinking probably need to be divided. Just tell me what to do with it - should I wait till right before the swap and just dig a chunk of it up? Advice is obviously needed! And Roses - I would love to have a blushing susie vine for my mom if you have any left.

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

bifdiehl, you can dig the whold clump and then split them up, you can put them jst put them in a big bucket or even plastic bag and people can just take what they want or you can them in separate bags or pots ...they are very hardy and can take some abuse. Most people label the plants they bring. You'll learn a lot from just attending your 1st round up.

Middle of, VA(Zone 7a)

All: In case anyone wants this info (other wise just ignore me...LOL) When you edit your post if you want to get rid of the extra "This message was edited" simply highlight and delete them after you edit your post - then hit send. All that will remain will be the most recent edited time

Crozet, VA

Thank you so much Critter for sending me to correct thread. You are a doll, you know? When I think of you, I first think of sweetness. I am not sure if you want that label or not, but that is how I see you.

Okay, I am now taking any and all orders for the following plants:

Jacob Kline Monarda (Bee Balm)
Creeping Thyme
Astilbe - not sure of color
Black Barlow Columbine
NOID Columbine
Sedum Autumn Joy
Lamb's Ear

And in the Day Lily category there are:

Mary Todd
Marionette
Happy Returns
Best Beau
Ruffled Apricot
Susie Wong
Burning Daylight

So, you folks let me know what I can bring for you. I will start yet another list.

Now, for my requests. First off Clay, unless you are running way short, I would love to have a couple of your buckets. A person can never have too many buckets. No problem if they are all spoken for already.

Docgipe - I am hoping that you will have some unspoken for Christmas Cactus. I had a fairly decent looking one that died on me this year.

I already contacted Wind, Sally and Ladygardener about wants. Thanks ladies. Wind, I gave you false information the other day regarding the white Clematis. It is living. John told me that it is beginning to sprout now. Poor things has been moved to three different spots. It is now in it's permanent home and has its own wooden trellis to hopefully fill. But, another pinch of it wouldn't hurt, just in case. I promise to do better by this one. Seems that I first planted it where a grazing cow stuck his head through the fence and munched away. hahaha Actually, not too funny, because the cows also tend to eat some of my front yard beauties too and irratate the heck out of me.

So, I hope that everyone will find something in my offer list that I can bring to you. It won't be too long now, and I am really looking forward to seeing everyone.

Frederick, MD(Zone 6b)

We've got a new thread for swap chat!

http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/979020/

Since we've got so many participants and such active swapping, maybe we can take requests and questions to the new thread and just use this thread for have/want lists as Holly suggested (1 per person, edited as needed).

Thanks!

Here's my spot - the night before my tulips came up, I stayed up all night to catch the sunrise to take pictures, and I typed out a nice, long, organized list for this thread, and it disappeared when I hit send, so I'll just post this for now and add to it later. Mike

- Plant tags, I'll make as many as I can: SallyG, Critterologist, Chantell, miatablu, +?

gallon sized forsythias, take them please, somebody must have room for them, I sure don't - happymacomb
evening primrose
plain old green hostas w/lavender flowers
variegated hostas, 'Undulata Univittata' I guess - flowerjen, +?
LA Lily 'Royal Sunset', very small plants, probably won't bloom next year (some might) but they're beautiful and prolific NisiNJ

Lots of seedlings, I'll have to look around see what's what

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

stormy, I would love a red yarrow, a heuchera brownie and the clethra. Thanks much!

Norristown, PA(Zone 6b)

Gotcha Jen. The Brownies gets Hugh, 24" across. Very long lasting cream colored blooms in late summer. The Clethra needs lots of water, but oh, the smell!! Bees love it. White Blooms.

Crozet, VA

I hate to admit it, but since it is par for the course, I will go ahead. I have been quite confused by all of the threads here and knowing where to post things. Anyway....to make matters worse, a few days ago John got on here and began reading and making a list of the things that we will need to bring to the swap. Just what I needed. NOT. Anyway, I am over the little snit that I had then.

We will go by his list. I double checked behind him just now and found two items that he left out. But no worries, Ruby to the rescue. They are now listed. I will list here what I believe to be all of the "wants." If I have missed anyone, please let me know so that I can add you to the list.

I will post answers to any questions that I just read here in another post. Again, if I have missed anyone, please let me know

I will be bringing:

Flowerjen - Black Barlow Columbine and Creeping Thyme

Ladygardener - Mary Todd DL, Happy Returns DL and Bee Balm

Gita - Bee Balm and Astilbe

Nisi - BB Columbine, Noid Columbine, Burning Daylight DL and Happy Returns DL

Chantell - Bee Balm and Lamb's Ear

Clay - Day Lily (s) and Bee Balm

Wind - Best Beau DL and Marionette DL

Critter - Prairie Moonlight DL, Happy Returns DL and Bee Balm

Teri - one of each of the Day Lilies we are offering

Holly - Bee Balm, Happy Returns DL, Best Beau DL and Ruffled Apricot

One Wish - BB Columbine and NOID Columbine

Stormy - Creeping Thyme and Astilbe

I will close now. I need to go through my DMails and some of the other threads and I will come back here and edit in any that I missed.

Ruby

Near Lake Erie, NW, PA(Zone 5a)

Stormy I'd love to have the Heuchera - Coral Cloud, please.

Brunswick, MD(Zone 6b)

I've got a whole patch of baby Corsican Hellebores http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/go/1395/ from my plant that died last year. Right now they are very tiny, but maybe some will be big enough by the swap to pot. They will probably need babying once dug. I've got so many, don't be shy about asking for some even if they don't make it. Also still have a lot of Bears Foot Hellebores, all a good size now. Need to get rid of some since they are coming up in spots I don't want them. Hope to start adding more to my list soon. I'm sooooo behind!

Stormy, can I have one of the Heuchera- Brownies and the Bronze Wave if no one has claimed it yet?

Near Lake Erie, NW, PA(Zone 5a)

Miatablu, I don't have any Hellebores, and have been wanting to try some, I'll adopt some if you please.
Chris
