Fertilizer question

Pasco, WA(Zone 6b)

Would it be okay to fertilize my clematis with Miracle-Gro Shake' n Feed Continuous Release Bloom Buster? It feeds for 3 months. The numbers are 10-16-10.

10% Total nitrogen
16% Available Phosphate
10% Sluble Potash
20% Sulfur

Thanks Everyone!
On lunch break....will check back later.

Yes..that will be fine...your Phosphate number is higher than nitrogen..and that is what matters...Jeanne

you may want to make sure the fertilizer pellets are not touching the stem of the clems. not sure any scientific evidence on that, but i am very paranoid about uncomposted materials or fertilizer materials touching the stems. maybe old wives tale, for what it is worth.
and water in well when you use, another pet peeve paranoia form me to you.

Clematis Guru,
That is very useful info and I will be sure to follow it. Thank you!

Guru is correct...make sure your fertilizer isn't on the plants or roots as it can burn the plant..I take my finger and draw a one inch deep circle about a foot from my clematis and fill w/fertilizer and cover the soil back up and water really well..Jeanne
