Melbourne, FL

Have you see any yet, Pelletory?

Marlton, NJ

No not yet. Grandmaggie usually see's them before I do. One was reported in Cape May Courthouse the other day.

Beachwood, NJ(Zone 6b)

I had my red shirt on all weekend when I was in the yard. The main feeder has been up. No one yet. I will let you know asap when I see my first!!! (after I calm down of course!)

Greenville, SC(Zone 7a)

Grandmaggie lol! Always exciting to see the first one arrive!
Still nothing here yet, Maybe this weekend, It will be nice and warm again!

Marlton, NJ

I have 2 hummingbird feeders up. One in the front yard and another in the backyard. I also finally got my Oriole feeder up and I'll post a pic of it later.

Greenville, SC(Zone 7a)

I got 2 feeders up too, No oriole feeder though, Need to get one, I do however have orenge's and grapejelly and fruit in a platform feeder

(Tammie) Odessa, TX(Zone 7b)

I saw my first hummer yesterday... heard one about a week ago... am not sure what kind it was but we usually have the ruby throat ones here... it was too fast to get a look.

Greenville, SC(Zone 7a)

The mockingbirds keep going for the jelly and fruits, but, It's a feeder thats hanging with 3 others on a 4 way cross feeder hanger, Do you think the orioles would use this or should I put a feeder in a different location?

Congrats LhasaLover ! :)

Greenville, SC(Zone 7a)

I remember that last year, I didn't get the hummers untill my clematis bloomed, I'm waiting to see if it will be true for this year.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

I have ruby throat, and blackchinned hummers here in Del Rio, Texas. They have been here since the middle of March!
Linda Kay

Marlton, NJ

That's great Linda! I love the Black-chinned!

Ferndale, AR(Zone 7b)

Thought the little guy I first saw April 1st was a scout passing through, but apparently not. He's still here and has definitely established his territory. He's easy to spot on his favorite perches if he's not at the feeder. Guess he's 'bulking up' trying to look good for the ladies when they arrive.

Greenville, SC(Zone 7a)

Guarding his feeder allready!......... : Guess he's 'bulking up' trying to look good for the ladies when they arrive.".LOL!!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Here are 3 of the blackchinned hummers in the mesquite tree. Two females, and a male. This was taken 20 March, 2009

Marlton, NJ

It sure was cold today!

Mona in Metcalfe, ON(Zone 5a)

the black birds showed up last night and waxwing this morning poor waxwing so hungry thought he was going to choak for how fast he was eating the seeds out on the railing of the deck

Putnam County, IN(Zone 5b)

I can't with 100% certainty...but I MAY have seen one while I was down at John's checking the BB boxes...which have nest in them by the way!

Whatever it was went by to quick to be sure. I put out the back feeder today. So I have 2 out now.

Mona in Metcalfe, ON(Zone 5a)

you will know shortly with two feeders out so check as soon as the day warms up they should be feeding

Hiltons, VA

none here yet - SW VA, 1376 ft elevation, southern appalachians ...

Whiteside County, IL(Zone 5a)

Just made my sugar water! I was on the way home from the suburbs of Chicago today when I saw a hummingbird feeder on someone's back patio!

Ferndale, AR(Zone 7b)

Well, 'Mr. Bulky' now has a companion! Can't tell if it's a male or female yet but there are definitely two of them on the feeder!

Our feeders have always been across the back of the house where most of the windows are. I finally got smart yesterday and put one outside my computer room window which faces the front. I spend waaay too much time sitting here and, sure enough, it's paying off nicely. Yipee!

Marlton, NJ

That's great fleurs!!

Greenville, SC(Zone 7a)

Congrats fleurs!

Seen my first two hummingbirds today!!

Ferndale, AR(Zone 7b)

They are on the move!

(Tammie) Odessa, TX(Zone 7b)

Dumb question here... how do you ID a hummingbird? I have one that is VERY dark green on the back, black head and white ring around the neck. .... Where do I go look at pictures of different ones to find that one?

Whiteside County, IL(Zone 5a)

Check out this link for your area.

The Hooded Oriole is still visiting (since March 12) and today he brought a girlfriend for the first time. Black-chinned are still the only hummingbirds I'm seeing. I've had two males and one female.

Jacksonville, FL(Zone 8b)

Just saw 3 Hummingbirds! They have arrived! Have to get the feeder out. Right now they are feeding on the Bottlebrush Trees.

Triple yipee!

Marlton, NJ

Congratulations irishsoul!

Jacksonville, FL(Zone 8b)

There is one with a bluish/green throat. Never seen one like that here before. Maybe part of the migration troops.

Yonkers, NY(Zone 5b)

I stopped by my local Wild Bird Center today. They informed me that there was a Ruby Throat sighting in Central Park (NYC) this past week!
The WBC guy said it's a bit early and there probably won't be much in the way of more sightings for another week or two.
