Minor kiln disaster...

Well, fired my glazed peices this weekend...didn't watch it as close as I did when we did the bisque. The kiln sitter worked just fine. However, the button didn't pop out so it didn't shut off. I'm sure it reached a cone 10 (we were firing to cone 5). It ran about two hours after we reached cone 5 before we caught it. Melted the ceramic on the stilts. Doesn't look like we lost any peices but they are overfired and UGLY! I'll post some pictures tonight when I get home. I don't mind losing something early on but it's really discouraging / dishartening after going through the whole process through glazing.
