Plant lettuce and tomato's in it.
Our old spreader was pretty much shot, the bottom had rusted and the blades were broken and the adjustment lever had broke so figured by the time we repaired it/hassle/ cost might as well get a new one....it held 250lbs of fertilizer. So we left the hopper open, buried it part way in the ground, added gravel to the bottom for drainage and filled w/ soil, then planted lettuce and tomato. Works great and over the summer when it's too hot here in Florida to grow veggies, I'll plant something else in there.
What do you do with an Old Fertlizer Spreader ?
