Seed saving question

Biggs, KY(Zone 6a)

Can anyone tell me how to save seeds from lemon balm? Whare are the seeds located? Here is the bed coming to life again. There are still some of the bloom stalks left from last year with the flower remnants still hanging on. Is that where the seeds are?

Seeds come from flowers that have been fertilized. There may be still seeds in the dried flowers. Pick a few and carefully take them apart. Look closely to see if there are any seeds in it. Sometimes seeds are well hidden in dead flowers. If you can't find any, then they have already dropped to the ground. In that case, watch for seedlings sprouting near the plant.

Thanks. I'll look tomorrow.

You can also try cuttings and/or dividing what you have.

I was thinking of seeds for trading. I have become addicted. LOL

Hehehe...I know that feeling. I've never gotten seeds or blooms from mine. Maybe it's because it's in a pot????

Could be. Mine is in a bed of sorts. It was in good shape before the ducks decided it would make a good nesting spot. LOL They have nested elsewhere this season so mayhap it will recover.
