Grows in the nature preserve area between the Salk Institute and the Glideport, on the cliffs near the Pacific in La Jolla. I wonder if it is original or naturalized. The insert in the top is a closeup of the leafy part of the plant.

It looks like Dudleya anthonyi. It's native to Baja California. Maybe the seed did a short trip.

Uhmm, better change it to Dudleya pulverulenta which is native.

Yes, that's the one I was going to suggest, poor thing is dessicated.
