I have taught the painting part of 8 Memory Quilts to give away usually to someone moving or retiring. The school students come up with a drawing that the person would enjoy, and then they draw it on Muslin, taped with a 1" border onto paper. The squares are usually about 8" x 8".
Then they use acrylic fabric paint -lightly if I catch them in time. Its a hoot. I take it home and do the quilt part.
