It doesn't take any time at all to fill up a Volume these days.

A Pine Siskin shot through the kitchen window the other day. Been too dark and overcast the last few days for good photography.

Yesterday this Northern Hawk Owl was being harassed by two Magpies. Both sides were standing their ground, while a dozen Redpolls were feeding in the tree tops, above the stand off.

Here's a jackdaw sitting on the roof - he looks to have quite a few white feathers.

And a starling on the fence.

Redoubt Volcano has been erupting, off and on for several days. Each eruption sends up a mushroom cloud of ash, as high as 60,000 feet. I've been lucky only getting a slight trace of ash fall out, last night. This is a picture of Redpoll tracks as they disturbed the thin layer of ash in my yard. However, International Airport was shut down completly last night due to ash fall. If ash is sucked into a jet engine it can destroy it.

I really need a better camera after looking at all these picture mine is not clear enough its so old that I only have 5 mega pixel and 4 x zoom lol need something better

A Lesser Yellowlegs taken yesterday in casual water along rural road. I would have liked to get closer but DH was yelling "the dog has to go to the bathroom"!! LOL! Anyway a first!

Rose, your 'Yellowlegs' looks so cute, so is Methodical's P. siskin above. Okay here is my friendly great heron fishing on my back yard.

Thanks Lily! If I had a set up like yours I would get nothing done but bird watching and picture taking. Oh, wait a minute...that's all I do get done!! Nice shot of the Heron...lucky you!

Two Hooded Orioles showed up here yesterday. Here's the adult.

This immature Hooded Oriole arrived a couple hours later.

The younger one couldn't figure out how to get the sugar water, but finally figured it out. I had removed one of the flowers, making the hole larger for these birds.

Duc...those pictures are just adding to the excitement of Spring!! Wow...just love them and what a good idea to remove some of the flowers...I will have to try that!

the geese are moving into the old corn fields they are very hungry from all the travels
I didnt even notice all the ones in the field when I took the piture I was going for the ones taking off and landing since it looked cool

Haven't had this visitor (Male Yellow Shafted Northern Flicker) in a while. Too bad he didn't land on the other side of the feeder.

Our barred owl. We hear him calling every day and now his mate is starting to answer. Her voice is slightly higher.

I have been in my home for 18 months and there are plenty of woods and lots of barns lol
but I have not heard or seen one single owl

I never hear them except occasionally during the night.
