I have 1 15 yr old Butterfly bush that is very close to the street which is where the deer
have to pass to enter the yard. They have never touched it, but since I have to cut it back every Spring to get the best bloom they would be helping me if they did, rather than hurting.
Good -- I might try putting one outside the fence!
Never bothered mine and I have lots of deer.
