Family in Australia...

Sequim, WA(Zone 8a)

Hi, this is Becky & I was wondering if anyone in "your neck of the woods" could possibly steer me in the right direction - I (we) have family in Australia and unfortunately I have very little information to go on - my uncle has forgotten more than he should, and all I have is a general location & a last name - could someone advice me of who/what agency/local/state etc. I would need to get in contact with to see if I can possibly locate them? My uncle was a 'tad' vague - all I have is Perth, Hughes and "very large sheep-station" (I know, pretty sad...), I believe they immigrated from the UK in the mid 50's - I know I have a couple of second cousins that I met in the UK when I was very little (I do have some first names) - I'd appreciate any information anyone can give me - I am normally really good at finding things/people/information on the Internet, but, this has me a tad stumped...thanks in advance for any help - Becky

I was in Weipa, Australia when I was 9, I fell in love with the country, even a red, dusty bauxite mining town like Weipa was fascinating & one day I will return...^_^

hi Becky ...maybe this place can help you.
Good luck ...I hope you find your folks.

Good luck Becky. Records are a little scarce at 1950's. Lots of Hughes and lots of sheep stations.
I'll have a bit of a dig around but in the meantime go with Chrissy's link.
