Poor Little Green Dragon from Rarebulbs/Edensblooms. It took almost 5 months after I paid for this bulb to be shipped to me. The very tiny bulb was almost dried out but managed to put out a 2 inch scape. I'm not even sure if this is a true Green Dragon. It is looking to be like Jade Serpent.

Good grief...

Did you grow the Japanese from seed or do you have a source? I've had several on my wishlist for years. Love that trumpet form. So species!

Rene: I like seeing massed plantings of Amaryllis Outside. They are the "Southerner'sTulips". My outside beds are starting to bloom. Since the tags get lost, its always a surprise when they bloom. I have a really odd one right now. I know what I planted last year, and it sure wasn't this. My guess is this is last year's Magic Green, that seems to have decided to bloom as a double this year. The 2 blooms on the scape are both like that. Does anyone have a clue as to what's going on?
BTW: I was really pleased to see one of my Amaryllis photos as March 16th flower photo of the day. That was one of my top favorite photos that I have ever posted.

Duh! I even looked at it but it didn't register.....Great photo!!!!

bsharf I too like the massed plantings! I have a bed with probably 60 blooming size bulbs in it where the 2nd group was taken, the other bed in 1st group is has about 25 in it. I am running out of room.

How wonderful to have them outdoors!

Here is a pic of my sis pot of white Amaryillis from WM. They were in mesh bags for 3.00 each & labeled garden varirty white with a pic of a sgl white, What a find , i bought some of them too, hoping they were all alike. They also have a nice scent.

Lorine,

Please count the buds/blooms per scape! Do you see seven?

I am in awe.

Some of my WM garden whites appear to be White Christmas, then all of a sudden, several are showing up as doubled whites with lots of pollen and 7 blooms per scape.

Awesome! They are gorgeouse, especially for $3!

Ann

Yes there were seven blooms. I am amazed!!!

WoW!

Awesome! Seven blooms per scape, consistently should tell us something, some sort of clue as to the identity.

For sure, the blooms are gorgeous and huge and I am in awe with all that pollen!

Anyone know what this awesome NOID double white could possibly be?

I am absolutely thrilled!!!! I will take pictures as soon as I can and compare to the other WM whites...

East Texas, United States(Zone 8a)

I was wondering about the WM amaryllis packages. Tempted to get some so I, too, can have a bed w/ 60 amaryllises. That has got to be absolutely awesome.

Misty opened her first buds today. Definitely a favourite!
