Garden Hose recommendations

I recently purchased another hose...a nylex 18mmx30mts.I was under the impression that it was going to be kink resistant.Not so...It is the worst hose I think I have ever had and I paid a fair sum for it too.Does anyone here have experience with another this size that is not so prone to kinks.I have always had these big hoses but can't remember what the previous one was,but it did last a long time and was a good hose.I am not impressed with nylex!

They are pretty hopeless! I can't remember what brand(s) I have but I usually buy hoses from a specialist irrigation supply place rather than Garden Centres/Kmart/ hardware shops etc.

I don't know the name, but hubby bought me a very good one ...all I know about it is that it is kinkproof for real (love that ) it is a grey colour. The last one I had, you could hear me yelling at it for miles I'm sure very frustrating when trying to water a very large area in limited times...and on hot days it went flat like a pancake ...they shouldn't be able to call it kinkproof if it isn't.

One tip for you. I have always had kinky hoses! he, he. This is not foolproof, but does make it a bit less frustrating, but when you coil your hose up, put it in a figure eight, and then it doesn't actually have twists in it. I place mine flat on the ground, and when I pull it out (as long as I'm in a straight line) it comes off the coil easily. I also make sure it is in dry shade, so that it does not deteriorate with the weather.
I'm thinking of forking out the big bucks and getting a retractable hose, but as I have 3 x 15 metre hoses joined together, I'm not sure that the retractable type comes in a long enough length to get me where I want to go?

Thanks for the tips. I just might try the irrigation stores.Sue my hoses never get to be coiled, they are in constant use...so I would just be wasting my time.The hose is a nylex premier...nothing premier about it in my opinion lol! I've had a good few garden hoses over the years but nothing as bad as this crappy one!

I brought a grey non kink one from the market (it kind of reminds me of a snake) 18mm x 50m, actually I brought 2. They are excellent, the only problem is that they are so heavy.
