Too late to plant peas?

Is it too late to plant snap pea seeds in the Atlanta area?

I don't think so, but you are approaching the deadline. While I normally plant in late November and again in early February, They will usually make planted until about the middle of March.

I have seeds of the old Sugar Snap pea. Would it be better to save those for next season and get some earlier snap peas like Sugar Sprint?

That old Sugar Snap gets close to five feet tall, so you will need a trellis. One of the best tho. Sugar sprint will be half its size but only about a week earlier. I have not grown it but have grown the similar Sugar Ann and Sugar Bon which did not measure up to Sugar Snap in flavor or productivity. You pays your money and takes your choice as the the old folks use to say.
