I moved into a new home last May and I have numerous irises that appear to be in an area where they are not getting enough sun - I'd like to transplant them - am not so much worrying about dividing at this point - how early in the spring can I do this?

You can try this May etc with a lot of dirt and the shovel, but should really wait until a month after bloom. However do they have stalks & will you see what type they are? I.cristata, the crested iris, like shade.
