Its not an invasive one, but a clumping variety, with cream culms, striped with green. the leaflets are about 10 cm each. Got that grey/green look (Glaucous) I s'pose its about 3-4 metres tall (5-6 year old clump) and the culms (stems) are about 3-4 cm at their thickest. Hope that helps
Sue did you look at this part? ...clumping bamboo? oh boy can you cadge some?

I think its B. multiplex, but not sure of the cultivar. I've left it in the Plant ID forum for discussion.
Thanks Chrissy. I went to the Chiropractor today. It was quite interesting seeing how my body responded to some poking, prodding, bending and squashing. I feel a bit looser in the shoulders, but found I've been doing the wrong thing by applying heat. I will be applying a bag of frozen veges to the pain from now on!
I have a house full of guests tonight. Right now they are all riding at the local motorcycle track. I went to spectate but only lasted a couple of hours. Too noisy, dusty, smelly and I only found one little bit of garden! A tree in a concrete border with one clump of rain lilies. I sat with it for awhile, then decided I'd rather be at home. he, he. S'pose I'd better go clean the bathroom and sweep the floor or something. Gotto make it look as though i care! he, he.
